Do sales jobs in London breed sleep deprivation?

Sales jobs in London may be causing sleep deprivation among workers, a new study suggests.

Research by Silentnight Holdings indicates that 27 per cent of residents of the capital city find it difficult to sleep due to money worries, reports Bloomberg.

The Sleep Report also discovered that about a quarter of British residents lost sleep due to work stress, health and family problems, with inhabitants of Wales losing the least shut-eye due to the credit crunch or personal wellbeing worries.

However, sales jobs could be a better choice than legal careers for jobseekers who prioritise a good night's rest, with lawyers aged 55 found to be the most sleep-deprived workers in the UK.

"Lawyers are good at hiding their emotions and underneath there's a great deal of turmoil going on," Michael Wood, a consultant and former managing director of law firm Bircham Dyson Bell LLP, told the news provider.

Last month, The Sleep Council suggested that a solid eight hour's sleep could remove the desire to nap during the working day.
