Sales jobs hit as permanent placements decrease
Permanent placements in areas like sales jobs have decreased, a new industry report reveals.
These are falling at their fastest rate since 2001, REC and KPMG's Report on Jobs shows.
Director of KPMG Alan Nolan claims there is a large increase in the number of people applying for the remaining vacancies.
This allows companies to keep payroll costs low as the number of skilled workers lets them restrain salary growth.
According to the report, this has increased by the least amount in the last five years.
"Even in these uncertain times, recruitment consultancies are still seeing continued demand for flexible staffing to meet businesses' fluctuating people requirements," he notes.
Sales jobs will be among those hit as what Mr Nolan describes as an "increasingly unused" number of applicants builds up.
Temporary billings in sales jobs and other areas have also fallen.
