Post-interview behaviour 'vital for jobseekers'
Jobseekers should take care not to ruin their employment chances after an interview is over, it has been claimed.
According to US News, common mistakes made by candidates include forgetting to send a thank you note, attempting to apologise for an interview mistake and bombarding a hiring manager with telephone calls and voicemail messages.
Writing for the publication, industry commentator Liz Wolgemuth stated that recruiters are often unsure whether someone is right for a job even after an interview is over and behaving in the wrong way can convince them that someone is not.
She added: "If you're sure you bombed your interview, then you may think any follow-up effort is a waste of your time - or just another opportunity to mess up. That's not the case."
Earlier this week, recruitment firm Futurestep claimed that recent economic turbulence has forced companies to re-address the changing landscape for talent acquisition.
