Staff in sales jobs 'should minimise their stress levels'

By Paul Goatman

Those with sales jobs should take steps to minimise the stress they are exposed to, an expert asserts.

Jane Gillham, director of Pivotal Performance, tells Onrec.com that there are a number of extra pressures facing those in employment at the moment and gives five tips to keep anxiety under control.

Time management skills are one of the key abilities she recommends people in sales jobs to develop.

Regular breaks are essential, she states, as this will increase efficiency throughout the day as a whole.

Getting more sleep can also improve productivity throughout the day, as individuals with a well-rested body are better positioned to gain a new perspective on problems.

Ms Gillham also advises: "Laughter is nature's stress reliever. A bit of office banter can actually create a better workplace."

She suggests that workplace pressures can lead to a decrease in efficiency which can manifest itself in both the body and mind.

Earlier this month, financial services company Allianz announced it would be offering massages and reflexology consultations to staff at its Guildford offices in order to reduce stress among its employees.
