Sales jobs interviews 'need dedicated preparation'

Being prepared to go the extra mile in order to prepare for sales jobs interviews and even visiting the company to find out the ideal dress code will give candidates an edge over the competition, according to one recruitment firm.

Mount Juliet Jobs, which specialises in giving employment advice, said that being assertive and not being afraid to set out what you expect from a role is also very important at interview stage.

It stated: "The employer will usually ask why the person applied to the company and where you would like to be in five to ten years. Long-term questions such as this will show if there is dedication for the job at hand."

The company added that negotiating salary at interview stage can be nerve-wracking but is worth doing to make sure you start work with a wage you are truly happy with.

Jim Camp, founder of the Camp Group, which provides advice for interviewees, recently told Examiner.com that being genuine and authentic at a sales job interview will stand an applicant in good stead.
