Expert: Jobseekers should continue to take risks

People hoping for sales recruitment success should continue to take risks and follow their career aspirations, according to a leading entrepreneur.

James Caan, businessman and star of the BBC's Dragons' Den programme, told the Daily Telegraph that while this year has been a tough year for jobseekers, it could have a silver lining.

He urged people to "keep the momentum going", with most becoming more proactive in their search for sales recruitment success.

"Whether it's rewriting a CV or honing an interview technique ... perhaps it is the reality that it really is 'survival of the fittest' out there," added Caan.

The Dragon also said that employers should take advantage of the jobseeker-saturated market and ensure that they are securing their stars of the future.

"Either way, make sure you're ready for 2010," he advised.

Writing for the Daily Telegraph previously, Caan said that people should be persistent when trying to land their ideal job.

Job hunters should be looking at their own niche skill sets to set themselves apart from the others going for the same roles, he added.
